Implementation Summary

Ethyca uses the following endpoint in Salesforce to delete Personally Identifiable Information (PII) when a user submits a data subject request. See below for a summary of what Ethyca does with each endpoint:

Because Salesforce is a customer relationship management tool, it stores PII about your customers. If this aligns with your use of Salesforce, please proceed to the next section to begin setting up your integration in the Control Panel.

Connection Settings

To connect your instance of Salesforce to Ethyca, you will need to enter your Domain and Data Fields, and then authorize the connecting using OAuth. Please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to your instance of Salesforce at login.salesforce.com.

  2. Click your account Avatar in the main navigation. Your Domain is the listed directly under your username. In the example below, the Domain is cloudco-na123.salesforce.com. Enter this value into the Domain field Ethyca.

  1. Enter a comma separated list of your Data Fields. Since Salesforce is infinitely customizable, these fields are specific to your account setup. For help finding your Data Fields, please refer to Salesforce developer documentation. Make sure to ad Id at the end of the list in each of the fields in Ethyca. You may have one to many fields listed in each Data Field, depending on how you've customized your Salesforce account.

  2. Fill out the Data Mapping tab. When you have finished, press the "Save" button.

  3. Dismiss the confirmation modal. You will be directed back to the Connection Settings tab. There is now a new link that says "Authorize Application (OAuth)". Click this link.

  1. You will be directed to a Salesforce login page. Enter your credentials here and press the "Log In" button. If you are already logged in to Salesforce, your browser will skip this step.

  2. After logging in, Salesforce will ask for permission to allow access to Ethyca. Press "allow" to finish setting up your Salesforce connection.

  1. You will then be redirected back to the "Manage Integrations" page. You have finished setting up your Salesforce integration!
