Setting Up Your Custom Ethyca Privacy Center
Ethyca's Privacy Center provides a centralized place for your customers to manage their personal privacy rights. In the Privacy Center, users can submit data access requests, manage their consent preferences from a single location, and file erasure requests. They can also view your company's privacy policy. The guide below walks you through what customizations you can make today to fit your branding needs.

Customizing Your Privacy Center Design
The settings below are customizable when going live with your Privacy Center. These settings can be found on the Privacy Center page within Admin Settings of your Ethyca Control Panel.

Company Logo | This should be supplied as a PNG with a transparent background and should be optimized for appearance over the background color you supply. |
Privacy Center Domain | By default, your Privacy Center subdomain is set to yourcompany.ethyca.com. Many customers will choose to use a custom subdomain, which will require assistance from your Customer Success Manager to configure. |
Privacy Center Headline | The main message on the top of the page header. By default, this is set to "Take control of your data!" |
Privacy Center Subtitle | Below the headline, additional text describing the importance of data privacy. By default, this is set to "When you use our services, you're trusting us with your information. We understand this is a big responsibility and work hard to protect your information and put you in control." |
Homepage URL | The URL used to redirect the user from the Privacy Center back to your website. |
Top Banner Color | The color for the banner found at the top of your Privacy Center. The color of the "Privacy Center" text will automatically change to white or black for you depending on the color you have selected (i.e. the color of the text will change to black for lighter banner colors and white for darker banner colors). |
Bottom Banner Color | The color for the banner found at the bottom of your Privacy Center. The color of the "Powered by ethyca" text will automatically change to white or black for you depending on the color you have selected (i.e. the color of the text will change to black for lighter banner colors and white for darker banner colors). |
Button Color | The color of the buttons found on the Consent Management page. "Submit Download Request", "Submit Deletion Request", and "Manage Consent" buttons |
Headline and Privacy Action Font Color | The color of the font for the headline of your Privacy Center, the "Submit Download Request", the "Submit Deletion Request", and "Manage Consent" calls to action. |
Privacy Action Button Location | This allows you to control where the Privacy Actions appear on your Privacy Center. You can configure them to display either above or below your company's privacy policy. |
Privacy Actions to Display | This allows you to toggle on and off which privacy actions to publish to your privacy center, giving you more control and flexibility with what you are able to support. |
Setting Your Branded Subdomain Using a CNAME DNS Configuration
Many customers will choose to use a vanity URL or custom branded subdomain when creating their Ethyca Privacy Center. For example, having users action their privacy rights on privacy.yourcompany.com
rather than yourcompany.ethyca.com
.

Configuring your Privacy Center Email Settings:
Your customers will receive a series of emails from the Privacy Center as they exercise their rights. Check out our Privacy Center Experience guide for a more detailed breakdown.
In this step, you will find details on the different types of outbound emails that you can customize.
Custom Email Settings | Description |
---|---|
Domain | For outbound notification, by default, this is set to mail.ethyca.com and can be edited with assistance from your Ethyca Customer Success Manager. |
Sender Email | When data access requests are made from your Privacy Center, the requestor will receive an email from the email address specified here. |
Sender Name | The label name that the email from the Privacy Center will be sent from. |
Reply-to email | The email address that the data requestor can reply to. Typically this is an alias you already have set up for internal privacy support or customer support operations. |
If you would like emails from the Privacy Center to be customized (for example:having emails sent from<username>@privacy.yourcompany.com (as opposed to [email protected]), please visit this article and contact your dedicated Customer Success Manager.
To manage your Email Settings, simply update the "Email Settings" in your Admin Control Panel:

Managing Your Privacy Policy Within Ethyca
Within Ethyca, you have the option to add your Privacy Policy directly within the Privacy Center, so it is a single destination for all privacy information. To configure your Privacy Policy within Ethyca, simply add text to the "Privacy Policy" section of your Admin Control Panel.
- This text field is rich-text format enabled, so you have a set of basic formatting options to make various sections and text stand out within your Privacy Policy.
- Ethyca recommends that you either direct your users to the Ethyca Privacy Center from an already existing Privacy Policy page that lives on your website, or that you host your Privacy Policy within your Ethyca Privacy Center.
